Reduce After Block (RAB) lets a market maker reduce the amount exposed by a stale quote after a chosen block. It is an order setting, not a separate order type.

How it works

Until the selected block has passed, the order remains fully executable. Afterward, the order exposes at most the smallest amount that meets the market’s minimum order value at that price. For example, if an order is much larger than the market minimum, a stale quote can still execute a market-minimum portion. The rest is released when the engine touches and reduces it.

It does not cancel the order

Passing the threshold does not update the stored order or immediately release its reserved funds. The order must be touched, canceled, or replaced before that state changes. A stale quote can still trade at its old price. Use cancellation when the objective is to remove the quote entirely.

Reading depth

Stored order state can retain the original size until the order is touched. The current onchain getL2Book and best-price views already account for stale-order visibility, so do not cap their returned depth a second time. An indexer reconstructing the book from stored orders must apply the visibility rule as blocks advance. Developers: the field is minSizeAfterBlock. Zero disables the policy. A nonzero value must exceed the placement block; reduction applies when block.number > minSizeAfterBlock. See the OrderBook reference and indexing guide for exact reduction and replay rules.
